A NEW DAY: Concert For A Cause - "The Entertainment Family Gives Back" will feature dozens of today's top performers in the music, film, comedy, dance, and television industries coming together to DONATE THEIR PERFORMANCES in an "All-Out-Jam" to benefit Our Community and non-profit organizations that are giving their all in service to Our Community. Held at the state of the art SABAN Theatre in Beverly Hills, Ca. on Sunday, December 13, 2015, the spectacular event will also feature multi-GRAMMY Award winner PATRICE RUSHEN as the Music Director of an All-Star band, Broadway star Jeffrey Polk as the events director, and Keenon Hooks as his assistant. Co-Hosted by Multi - BMI, NAACP & GRAMMY Award winning Actress/Singer DAWNN LEWIS & SuperBowl XLV & Dancing with The Stars Champion DONALD DRIVER, Featuring the Amazing DOUG E. Keenon wil stage his second holiday show of the season with Winter Wonderettes

Keenon returns to one of his favorite places for the holidays, the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. In addition to choreographing White Christmas with SDMT, he will also be Co Directing and Choreographing Winter Wonderettes. Missy, Suzy, Betty Jean, and Cindy Lou are back to help you ring in the holidays this year at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center! The follow-up to the smash hit The Marvelous Wonderettes finds the girls at Harper's Hardware for the 1968 holiday party! When Santa turns up missing, the girls must use their talent and creative ingenuity, plus some great holiday tunes such as "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," "Jingle Bell Rock," " Run Rudolph Run," "Mele Kalikimaka," "Winter Wonderland" and many other seasonal favorites to save their holiday party. The result is, of course, marvelous! This energetic and entertaining show is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.  So bring your entire family for a special holiday treat this year at SVCAC with Winter Wonderettes! Tickets are $24 Adults, $20 Students/Seniors 60 & Above, $18 Children and will run December 11 - 23.


Keenon rings in his 5th White Christmas!!

Join Keenon as he celebrates the holidays with the beloved family classic Irving Berlin's White Christmas, now a San Diego tradition in its 4th year! Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is The Ocean and the perennial favorite White Christmas. Nostalgic and charming White Christmas is an uplifting musical worthy of becoming a year round tradition. Keenon will set the Lisa Hopkins choreography for the sho for the second year in a row. Keenon reprises the role of Paul in Kiss Me Kate this summer!

Keenon is thrilled to be visiting Paul again in Kiss Me Kate this summer. Kiss Me Kate will be presented in a special arrangement with Chance Theatre and Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts’ Broadway in the Park summer series. Directed and Choreographed by Janet Miller,  Kiss Me Kate is a play within a play featuring a troupe of actors at a theatre on opening night of The Shrew, a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Taming of the Shrew. It blends operetta, musical comedy, vaudeville and throws in a helping of hi-jinks. The story is a basic boy had girl, tries to get girl back, loses girl and gets her back again with the happy ending of a 1948 musical extravaganza. It will run August 18 - 22.


Keenon's choreography for 13 was recognized by the National Youth Arts Awards

Panic! Productions 13 the musical was acknowledged by the National Youth Arts Awards. Keenon was honored with recognition nationally with a Nomination for Best Choreography! 13 was honored with 6 Awards total, in addition to its 6 other nominations. Way to go team, and thanks NYA!! 


Keenon returns to San Diego to join the cast of Singing in the Rain!

Keenon is thrilled to return to San Diego Musical Theatre to join the cast of Singing in the Rain! You remember the plot. You love the characters. You know “the song.” It’s no less than the stage adaptation of one of the most celebrated and beloved films of all time. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance, is accounted for, including the showstopping title number, complete with an onstage rainstorm! 1920′s Hollywood is the setting for this zany, light-hearted romantic comedy about the early days of sound film, when many a movie studio found itself scrambling to salvage the career of its chipmunk-voiced silent picture star. Keenon is excstatic to become the newest associate member of SDC - Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, his first union! SDC is the theatrical union that unites, empowers, and protects professional Stage Directors and Choreographers throughout the United States. Their mission is to foster a national community of professional stage Directors and Choreographers by protecting the rights, health and livelihoods of all of their Members; to facilitate the exchange of ideas, information and opportunities, while educating the current and future generations about the role of Directors and Choreographers and providing effective administration, negotiations and contractual support.


Keenon is set to choreography 13 the musical for Panic! Productions.

Keenon will choreograph 13 the musical with Panic! Poductions. 13 is a hilarious, coming-of-age musical about discovering that "cool" is sometimes where we least expect it. Geek. Poser. Jock. Beauty Queen. Wannabe. These are the labels that can last a lifetime. With an unforgettable rock score from TONY Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, 13 is a musical about fitting in – and standing out! 13 will run two weekends only April 10 - 19 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts in Thousand Oaks!

Join Keenon in his first show of 2015. He returns to the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center to reprise his award winning role of Seaweed J Stubbs in the broadway smash hit Hairspray. Hairspray continues to delight audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air! Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair? Many of the StageSceneLA Award winning cast members from the original SVCAC production will be returning, and you won't want to miss out on the fun!
